The questions shops actually ask.

Especially the money one. If your holdout is card processing, start at the top — and if you'd rather hear it on the phone, create an account and we'll set up the rate review.

Card processing & rates

I already have a processor and my rates are negotiated. Why would I switch?

Two answers. First: you don't have to. ALL FFL works with the gateway you already have — pick it in Settings and your payment links route through it. Nobody has to re-negotiate anything on day one.

Second: our processing partner is Deluxe Merchant Services — the American payments institution that has printed the nation's checkbooks since 1915, and one of the few of that stature that actively wants established firearms retailers. Coming through ALL FFL means coming in the partner door: a dedicated underwriting account manager, not a general queue. Every shop gets a free, no-obligation cost analysison its current processing: a real underwriter reads a recent statement, maps where your basis points go today, and prices the same volume through Deluxe. If the offer doesn't beat what you have, keep what you have — the platform works either way. Request the analysis →

What rate do I get when I sign up?

New merchants start on a published standard rate comparable to what mainstream processors charge ordinary retail — except these rails don't ban firearms. The application is filled out inside ALL FFL and goes to underwriting electronically; approval typically takes hours, not weeks, so most shops can be processing the same day. Established shops that want sharper pricing go through the tailored review above.

Why is my rate different on every card? What is interchange?

Every card on the market — a Chase Sapphire, a Home Depot Visa, a debit card from your local credit union — carries its own interchange rate, set by Visa and Mastercard, paid to the bank that issued the card. There are thousands of them. A premium rewards card can cost a full percent more than a plain debit card; those airline miles are funded out of the merchant's side of the transaction.

Flat-rate processors (Stripe, Square) charge you one blended rate sized so the worst cards are covered — which means you overpay on all the ordinary ones. On interchange-pluspricing, available through tailored underwriting, you pay each card's true interchange cost plus one small fixed margin. On most transactions that's cheaper, and every fee on your statement traces to a real, published rate instead of a blend.

Will I get dropped for selling firearms?

No — that's the point of the partnership. Stripe, Square, Shopify Payments, and PayPal prohibit firearms sales in their terms; shops get their accounts frozen with money in them. Deluxe underwrites this category deliberately, with eyes open, on merchant accounts built for it. Your storefront checkout, counter payment links, and (soon) ACH all run on rails that want your business.

Does ALL FFL take a cut of my card sales?

Your rate is your rate — set by the processor's underwriting, not padded by us. Deluxe pays ALL FFL a partner share out of theirside of the transaction for bringing them vetted merchants. That's why we can afford to wire payments deep into the platform without charging you a platform fee per sale.

Can I pass the card fee to the buyer?

Yes — surcharging is built in and off by default. Turn it on in Settings and choose a percentage (capped at the card-brand limit of 3%) or a flat fee. It always appears as its own labeled line when the buyer pays — never hidden — and some states restrict surcharging, so check the rules where you sell.

What about ACH for big-ticket and dealer-to-dealer sales?

Coming with our Deluxe integration: low-cost ACH for invoices, distributor payments, and high-dollar sales where card percentages hurt — wired to the same Back Office invoices and QuickBooks export, so a paid invoice records itself.

Switching & your data

How painful is the migration, honestly?

The bound book migrates as a CSV import in the ATF-standard format your current system exports. Products come in from a spreadsheet. Your website is rebuilt by the AI builder in an afternoon — or our concierge team does it for you. Branding — logo, business name, address, FFL number — is entered once and applied everywhere automatically, including your business paper (POs, invoices, LOIs). Most shops run both systems in parallel for a week and then stop opening the old one.

What happens to my records if I leave?

You take them. Settings → "Download all my data" exports everything — bound book, 4473s, forms, products, orders, contacts — as one file, any time, no phone call required. Your records are yours; lock-in is not the business model.

Is the compliance side actually inspection-ready?

The bound book is append-only and enforced in the database itself — recorded entries physically cannot be edited or deleted, only voided with a reason, and every entry is sealed into a cryptographic hash chain. When ATF visits, you print the full A&D export and hand it over. No direct-to-ATF sync exists in the industry — anyone claiming one is overselling — but every export they can ask for is one click.

We have multiple licenses — a retail 01, an 07 with SOT, an FEL. Does one account cover it?

Yes — that's the founding idea. Dealers, pawnbrokers, manufacturers, importers, destructive-device makers, and FEL explosives licensees share one login: multiple named bound books, NFA forms, Form 6/6A import paperwork, explosives A&D with magazines, and the storefront, all under one roof.

Bring us your processing statements.

Three months of statements is all the rate review needs. If the numbers don't beat what you have, you've lost nothing — and the rest of the platform still comes with a 7-day free trial.
